A cosy community with approximately 2100 inhabitants, who believe in what tomorrow holds. The municipality covers 640 square kilometres and is located in the centre of the Nordmøre region, halfway between Kristiansund and Trondheim. From Aune, bordering the municipality of Surnadal, and up to Storholt on the Sør-Trøndelag county line, the landscape rises from 50 to 280 metres above sea level. Lots of space, well established civic services, a safe place to raise children, a broad offering of cultural activities and a stabile social and cultural community are the hallmarks of the municipality.

Rindal is an exciting municipality that covers both Vestlandet and Trøndelag. The cultural landscape, building traditions and way of living testifies to this.

In many ways, Rindal is a miniature of Central Norway. The nature spans from high mountains to broad valleys, from arid hills to prolific valleys with a diverse flora and fauna. To the south you find the Trollheimen mountains with a multitude of experiences and easy access to the mountains, for hikers and motorists both.
The village boasts the Rindal village museum - one of the most popular museums of the region, the exciting and rustic traveller's inn Saga Trollheimen Hotel and the exceptional hiking opportunities, that lure the visitors.
Rindal is known as the "skiing village", due to the long and steady winters. The heritage of skiing is based on the achievements of local athletes, but also on the traditions of ski manufacturing.
